New River Cabins    ADA Accessibility statement
Website Accessibility Statement 06-11-2019

New River Cabins is committed to making our website accessible to prospective guests and other visitors with disabilities. We have tried as much as possible to keep our website design accessible for impaired users to see, navigate, interact and understand the content provided as per the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA)

We have tested the functionality of this website with a tool and the Google Chrome Accessibility Audit tool. We have also tested keyboard only functionality so the people who used screen readers or cannot use a mouse are able to navigate through the website pages efficiently.  Furthermore, we will continue to make every effort to meet evolving accessibility standards. Our webmaster checks the HTML of all new webpages to confirm accessibility before the pages are published in our website.  We have also sought feedback from people who have a variety of assistive technologies.  As we continue to improve our website functionality, we appreciate your concern and suggestions. We welcome impaired users to share accessibility issues you may find.

Currently, our booking engine partner, Innkeepers Advantage, is working toward, but has not yet completely met, AA standards of WCAG 2.0. This is something we will continue to work with our booking engine partner, so that it, too, will be accessible to people with disabilities. If you find you are having difficulty determining availability or booking an accommodation via our online system, please contact us at the phone # or email address below and we will be happy to assist you directly.

Information for persons with disabilities: The following information is to provide disabled persons our accessibility features in order to ascertain whether our lodging accommodations and space will meet their disability needs. Please refer to general property descriptions for all other amenities and/or call us for further information. Our office staff and contractors have received information about the website accessibility policy, procedures and has received a copy of the Dept. of Justice’s technical assistance document: “Accessibility of State and Local Government Websites to People with Disabilities”  Our office staff can answer any questions you may have on our handicap cabin.

The only handicap lodging unit we have is Cabin # 3. Our parking lot is large gravel and the step up to the porch is about 8 to 10 inches above ground. The distance can vary due to weather conditions and gravel sinking.  There are no wheelchair accessible ramps to the front porch or into the cabin itself. The front door is 36”wide, the bathroom door is 34” wide. There are handicap grab bars by the toilet and inside the stand up shower only. There are 2 twin beds on the first floor as well a kitchenette. Handicap codes were followed at time of building and inspected by Fayette County Building Dept.
